Bird surveys

Assist the leader to record bird sightings along a walk, learn some new birds along the way.

Conservation Volunteers Australia (CVA)

CVA offers a wide range of volunteer opportunities throughout Australia. These include bushland management activities such as planting and weeding.

General duties in indigenous plant nursery.

Collecting seed, propagation, weeding, field work (weeding & planting to revegetate), helping out with nursery customers (not a requirement for volunteers).

La Trobe Wildlife Sanctuary

The La Trobe Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the longest running revegetation and restoration projects in Victoria, and now runs a range of environmental education and management programs. The Sanctuary offers a range of volunteer opportunities, including assisting with plant propagation in the nursery and bushland management in the reserves.

Enthusiasm. More experienced volunteers may be able to undertake more advanced volunteer positions.

The La Trobe Wildlife Sanctuary is located on the Melbourne (Bundoora) Campus of La Trobe University opposite Car Park 8. Melways reference 19 H5.

Nursery and bushland management

Help to propagate plants for restoration of Yarra Valley Parklands. Occasionally help with weeding and other management in the park.

Every Wednesday, from 9-12.
