From the President: Places you love

A new campaign urges us to make our voice heard for biodiversity conservation. The Places You Love campaign is being run by an alliance of conservation groups. It aims to counter a corporate-led attack on Australia’s conservation laws.

In early May IFFA took part in a deputation to the Shadow Minister for the Environment, Lisa Neville. We joined concerned members of the public to express concern at the dismissal of Threatened Species Officers by the State Government under Ted Baillieu.

Before us was a diverse heathy woodland, alive with the colour of wildflowers in full spring bloom. In the distance I could see rugged sandstone escarpments, lined with dark stunted trees and ancient boulders.
