pond plants

I'm looking for feedback on the better indigenous plants to use in garden ponds, especially for frog gardening. Is the information just about form of the plant, or are there plants, even indig plants, to stay away from? or must have? I am thinking of using Marselia or Myriophyllum in the pond and Eleocaris acuta at the edge. Persicaria decipiens always looks a bit rampant for a garden pond, but what is a good ground cover for frog protection?
