Indigenous lawns with Hemarthria uncinata

I hadn't heard about using using Hemarthria uncinata (appropriately named Mat Grass) as an indigenous lawn until I saw this display on the IFFA excursion to the Cranbourne Botanic Gardens in January.

I've often thought about it

I've often thought about it as I've seen it forming a pretty thick stand in some natural situations, so I imagine it would respond well to mowing.
