Sites of Faunal Significance in the Western Region of Melbourne DRAFT

File size (Mb):
39.00Mb

This report presents the results of a detailed fauna and faunal habitat survey undertaken in the late 1980's.

This is probably the most detailed fauna survey that has ever been attempted in the western region of Melbourne. It remains unpublished and is in draft format. The report provides a valuable snapshot into the ecological diversity of the western plains prior to widespread clearing and fragmentation that accelerated during the 1990's as a result of urban development. Many of the sites that are discussed within the report are now gone or have been highly modified.
