Common Names:
Plume Grass

Tall, to 1 metre grass with plume-like inflorescence, green and pink while flowering.

Distribution:

A common component of Native Grasslands.Small_Dichelachne_crinita_inflorescence_flower.JPG

Gardening Hints:

This species may be germinate prolifically in bare ground so be prepared to remove it where it may threaten the establishment of slower species. I have had planted Lomandra filiformis killed by competition in their first year from Dichelachne that had germinated within the tubestock

Propagation:

Germinates freely in spring and summer. Best results are from seed 1-2 years old as seed is not long lived
